Ice Breaking

Ice-Breaking, which are activities done in the program every year

Ice-Breaking is one of the most important activities in the program, in order to get along well with other participants for ten days.
When you meet someone for the first time, you tend to make a barrier between you and the other person. Through Ice-Breaking, you can break this barrier. Ice-breaking was played in a shrine this year. In the peaceful atmosphere of the shrine, we returned to our childhood and enjoyed the activities.

“TATATATATAKO!!!!!” We shouted. The game we played was “TAI-TAKO-GAME”. We were divided into two groups: “TAI-Team” and “TAKO-Team”. Members of one team catch members of the other team and get them into their own team. For example, when “TATATATATATAI!!” is called, the members of “Tai-Team” try to catch the members of “TAKO-Team.” The team which has more members in the end is the winner. It’s very simple, isn’t it? We enjoyed this game a lot!!!

We ran around desperately in order to catch or escape from each other. We sweat a lot, too! All of the participants were satisfied with this game, saying, “Thanks to this game, we became closer to each other.”

Human chairs, a popular Ice-Breaking activity which is done every year

In Human Chair, you make one circle and sit on the lap of the person behind you. “One, Two, Three!” We sat down at the same time. Did we succeed? Unfortunately we failed. We tried again after we discussed how we could succeed.
“One, Two, Three!!” We did it!! We shouted for joy. However, we still had a challenge. We tried to walk while sitting on the lap of the person behind us. “One, Two, One, Two...” We moved our feet step by step..

Our teamwork paid off and we succeeded. It was a wonderful moment. We were all happy with these games.
